Are artists selfish? Maybe some would quickly answer no. Maybe someone living with an artist would quickly answer yes. Maybe some would just say it is a silly question. I have spent thousands of hours on my artwork, as I know many of my fellow artists on Fine Art America have also. All these hours have not produced any food, or helped some useful item roll off the assembly line. All those same hours are not spent with family or friends. I suppose it is an age old question: what is the value of art? Is there already enough, or too much, art in the world? There have been brief moments when I have felt guilty about working on my art. I am sure I will continue, but I suppose I may question myself at times.
